Donna Chalmers (Camp Director, Artistic Director of Fifth Row Center) is the proud Mimi to Lilia and Lennox, and mother of 3 wonderful grown children. Donna and husband Scot started Fifth Row Center in 2008 with the goal of making Fifth Row Center a vital part of a nurturing environment in Flowery Branch and surrounding areas where participation in, and patronage of the theatrical arts is both encouraged and celebrated. After getting her Bachelors Degree in Theater 100 years ago, and working on and off as a professional and amateur actress on the stage and on camera, she is delighted to pass on her experience and love of the theater to her community.
Scot Chalmers has performed as a juggler for over 30 years. Scot has performed at many venues including churches, sporting events, festivals, TV commercials, in prisons (just visiting), and just about anywhere else where people will sit still and watch things fly through the air. Scot has been married to his talented wife, Donna, for over 28 years and they have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. When he is not juggling, Scot is a sales manager for Eaton Corporation.
Cheryl Baraban is a recent graduate from Brenau University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Musical Theatre. In her four years of college, she was trained in movement for the stage, voice for the stage, ballet, jazz, tap, acting, singing, children's theatre, and theatre management! If you have seen any Gainesville Theatre Alliance shows in recent years, you may recognize her from her roles as Linda in The Wedding Singer, a principal cast member for her senior project I love you, you're perfect, now change, or Cinderella in Into the Woods. From 2007-2008, Cheryl also worked at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida where she was a dancer/character performer in many parades. She was also an opening cast member for two Hollywood Studios' shows: Highschool Musical: Pep Rally, and Highschool Musical 2: School's Out! She is so excited to start working with Fifth Row Center and will be teaching Movement, helping with Dance and co-teaching Winning Your Pageant.
Dee Dee Allard lives in Lawrenceville and teaches both piano and voice to students of all ages. She currently is on the Advisory Board for Fifth Row Center. She loves being involved in the theater…from acting and singing to directing. Dee Dee will be teaching singing/speaking skills for the camp.
Ondie Daniel is a professional actress, model, film and video producer, casting director, and makeup artist specializing in special effects makeup. She is the owner of The TFP Agency and TFP Productions. She co-owns 9Cop Productions promo and special effects team, Interstate Films, All the Usual Suspects Productions and Next Step Films. She has been acting and dancing for over 20 years with a degree in theater and film. Ondie is involved in many currents projects, including films and commercials. She will be teaching stage movement/dance and auditioning for commercials.
Ama Trear is entering her Junior year at Columbus State University, in Columbus, Ga, seeking a degree in Vocal Performance from the Schwob School of Music. Her passion for singing and acting has brought her to the stage several times with roles such as "Johanna" in Sweeney Todd, "Jane" in Pride and Prejudice, "Marian" in the comedy The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood and most recently was cast as a lead role in an Oratorio put on by the Schwob School of Music, happening this fall. She has sung and cantored in church choirs since the age of 5 and was an active participant of her school Chorus, giving her the opportunity to sing at such places as the Statue of Liberty and the Candle Light Festival in Disney World. She has also been a professional wedding singer and entertainer since the age of thirteen. Ama can't wait to share her love of singing and music with kids of all ages this summer and hopes they'll learn as much from her as she hopes to learn from them.
